International Missions

Caring Hearts (Mexico)
Caring Hearts is a ministry of Christian outreach and care to the people of San Luis, Mexico.  Their primary purpose is to support Bethel orphanage.  Caring Hearts pays for the staff, food and facilities as no government funds are available.  The Good Samaritan Feeding Center supports children in one of the poorest areas in San Luis.  The Oasis Boys Home is a vocational training group home for adolescent boys.  Many people from our congregation have participated in mission trips to San Luis.

Laura and Edgar Cojon  (Guatemala)
Laura is a teacher at the Christian Academy of Guatemala.  Edgar is an assistant pastor at Santuario Familiar, a church in Cuidad Quetzel.  They  are administrators and house parents for a new orphanage.

Lifesong (India)
Robert F. Stole when he realized the many needs of India’s children.  Bob and his wife have made many trips to India and have shared letters and pictures of their work there.  Their work has grown to six orphanages and the building of six churches.  They joined Lifesong in 2009.  Lifesong meets the needs of destitute Indian children in a Christian atmosphere by
•Giving total care including housing and three healthy meals a day
•Making schooling available at public schools and colleges
•Training in English, computer skill training, and technical skills
•Providing daily Bible classes

Stacey and Matt Ayars (Haiti)
Matt and Stacey are doing mission work in Cap Haitien, Haiti.  Matt is the president of Emmaus Bible College and teaches future Haitian church leaders.  Stacey teaches English and does marketing for the college.  Visit their blog for daily updates for “Life in Haiti”.

Autumn Marshall (Haiti)
Autumn works as a therapy coordinator at Miriam Center in Northwest Haiti.  She provides therapy for children with mental and physical disabilities.  Autumn also trains Haitian workers.  She also works with parents in the For Jonathan’s Sake program so they can help their children at home.  We are proud to say that Autumn is a member of New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Fintonia  (Sierra Leone, Africa)
EPC is in the process of church planting in the most unreached areas of the Muslim world.  Our New Bedford Church helps the Presbytery of the Alleghenies with the outreach that will provide educational opportunities in Sierra Leone.  Ten children have been sponsored from our church members.  Sponsorship will provide for schooling and supplies.

National Missions

Bethany Christian Services
Bethany is a pro-life Christian adoption agency.  Bethany of Western Pennsylvania provides domestic infant adoption, international adoption and special needs adoptions. Birth parent counseling services, post adoption counseling and support services are also provided.

WCRF/Moody Radio 103.3
Moody Radio Cleveland is a non-commercial radio ministry and is a leading source of Christian talk, Bible teaching and music.  The station reaches a potential of 2 million listeners throughout northeast Ohio, northwest Pennsylvania and parts of Ontario, Canada.  It is owned by Moody Bible Institute of Chicago.

EPC Church Plant Pittsburgh
The New City Church meets at 304 Forbes Avenue, Second Floor.  This church is Christ committed, city centered and cross cultural. Its mission is to equip the church, the college and community for God’s mission in the community.

Adam Marshall ~  Miracle Mountain
Miracle Mountainis a non-profit organization  located in Spring Creek northern Pennsylvania. The three main programs at the ranch are The School of Discipleship, Retreats, and Summer Camp.  Adam will be working with the operations of the 600+ acres plus building relationships with students who will be attending Miracle Mountain’s programs.  Along with his sister, Autumn, Adam is also a member of New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Local Missions

City Rescue Mission
The City Rescue Mission offers food, shelter, clothing and intervention to the homeless, hungry, fire victims, abused victims, unemployed and natural disaster victims.  The Sankey Youth Center gives children a structured environment with tutoring, crafts, sports, and Bible study. For short term emergency stays, the Covenant House is available.  The Men’s Ministry Program offers a chance for those coming to the Mission to plan how they can improve their skills and abandon destructive habits.  The Mission also operates a Family Care Food Bank.

Seneca Hills
Our young people use this camp with other EPC churches. Seneca Hills has times for retreats, conferences beside summer camping.  Michael Harvey is the Executive Director and Rev. Runyan serves on the Board of Directors.
Habitat for Humanity
Lawrence County’s Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit ecumenical Christian housing ministry.  People in need of decent shelter partner with Habitat in order to build simple decent homes.  Applications are considered  on the basis of need, ability to repay and willingness to partner with the local Habitat affilliate.  Men from our New Bedford Church have been instrumental in the completion of some of the New Castle Habitat homes.

Breakfast in Bethlehem
Breakfast in Bethlehem is a transformation of the church to the streets of Bethlehem at the time of the birth of Christ. Families have the opportunity to have breakfast and walk the streets of Bethlehem where children have the interaction at the different shops like Mary’s Kitchen, Joseph’s Carpenter Shop, the Synagogue School and the stable.
